Our Team

President

Marc Surette

I found Pickleball in 2018 after dealing with issues from a car accident. I was limping off the court after my 12 year old laid a pretty decisive beating on me in a game of tennis, 3 sets to 0. A group was playing Pickleball on the courts beside us, one of the men invited me out to play the next week. I am sure he felt sorry for me and it was their last session of the season.

Vice President

Jennifer Reynolds

I started playing pickleball several years ago. As a previous Municipal Government staff person, I offered to assist the Board in their ongoing discussions and deliberations with the Town of Halton Hills. The focus is to secure playing facilities, year-round as well as contribute to a strong partnership between our relatively new organization and the Town.

Fundraising

Sandra Monahan

I was introduced to pickleball approximately six years ago. At that time the only place to play was in Milton and Courtney Warner patiently taught me and several other friends the basic rules of play. Like many of you I became hooked on the game. I had played badminton for many years and found pickleball to be similar in many ways.  I look forward to working with the other members of the Board to provide everyone who wants to play the opportunity to do so.

Treasurer

Diane Lucas

I have been playing pickleball for about 4 years. I needed something to keep me physically busy during retirement. Now that I am on the board, I see the amount of time that the board members put into the club to make improvements for the members. As I have the time, it is rewarding to give back.

Secretary

Ken Thorn

I was introduced to pickleball by Courtney Warner 6 years ago and have been hooked ever since.  Volunteer organizations always need people to help with to run them and when the secretary position came open I was happy to fill it.  It has been lots of fun playing with our members and I have met lots of great people through the HHPA.

Social Director

Pat Lewis

I’ve been playing Pickleball for approximately 3 years. It’s a very social sport and I have met a lot of really nice people and made some great friends. It really is very addictive one you try it. I became Social Director in 2019 and have run several social events from the Not A Christmas Party, Participaction, bowling, and our Year end tournament.

Communications Director

Marnie Hughes

Having recently discovered pickleball, Marnie decided it was so much fun and the people were so fantastic that she wanted to help out with the website and communications to let the rest of Halton Hills know about this exciting sport.

Director of Play and Scheduling

Bob Dezeeuw

Bob and his wife, Sandra decided to jump into the Pickleball craze in the Fall of ‘22 and quickly realized how much time he was going to be spending at Pickleball courts! He has a long history of involvement in local youth athletics - including refereeing minor hockey, serving as an member on the Halton Hills Minor Baseball board along with coaching both sports along the way.

Director at Large

Greg MacLeod

Greg has been an avid pickleball player for years and is an enthusiastic and supportive person on the courts. With an ongoing aim to help out, Greg offered to participate on the Board in whatever capacity is needed.
